Antique Chinese porcelain vase from the period of the rose family. On the surface there is a scene of everyday life probably inside the royal palace and its surrounding garden. This type of representation is very common in this period, through the drawings stories of influential characters and sometimes mythological characters are told. The Rosa Family is a type of porcelain whose production dates back to 1730. It is a porcelain of indisputable quality both in terms of workmanship and decoration. Its color is characterized by different shades of pink combined with white. It is also known as fencai or ruan cai (“soft colors”) and later also with the name of yancai (foreign colors) to indicate the origin of its color. Pink families were typically produced for export and had a more floral style in homage to the newly blossomed Rococo fashion in Europe.
