Fine Carved and Ebonized Bar Cabinet

Availability: 1 in stock

Splendid bar cabinet designed in the 1920s, of fine Italian craftsmanship, with great mastery of woodwork.
The cabinet has two legs at the base that cover the entire depth of the base. The feet are made of wood and have a style that is, to say the least, classical, reminiscent of ancient Greek structures; they are made of white-painted grisaille wood.
The central body has a very massive rectangular shape. Both the base and the top are bevelled and have a frame that protrudes, like the friezes on the columns.
The top is framed by a very classical Greek fret in white painted wood. The base, on the other hand, is made entirely of ebonised wood, which gives an even more sumptuous effect.
The cabinet at the front displays two doors that can be opened by means of a brass key in original patina. Each door is decorated with a rectangular antique Greek frame, this frame shows in relief the figures of two women, which in keeping with the style of the cabinet are reminiscent of goddesses or muses. One is shown with a harp in her hand, thus representing the musicians who entertained the populace, while the other is shown with a book under her arm and a small bird gracefully resting on her fingers. She indicates the wisdom and serenity typical of Greek symposia and this is what this piece of furniture, suitable for symposium settings, is meant to refer to.
The real surprise comes when you go to open the doors: in fact, the cabinet is an illuminated bar cabinet. The doors open like a window and show a single central space made of wood in original patina. At the bottom we notice two wooden drawers with a round brass knob for storing useful objects.
To the side we see two bevelled wooden shelves that run along the thickness of the cabinet, all enclosed by a very sinuous and beautiful brass frieze.
Also on the doors are two shelves for storing bottles or glasses, as long as the entire length of the door, also fenced by the same fret.
On the shelf above the inner drawers are lights that allow you to see when the cabinet is opened. This bar cabinet is of timeless elegance, in the classical Greco-Roman style. For true lovers.
