Paolo Buffa Brass and Wood Vintage Console (Attr.)

4,500.00

Out of stock

Rare vintage Italian wood and brass console table attributed to the great 1950s designer Paolo Buffa, fine Italian manufacture.
The console is made entirely of wood, using different woods in shades of dark brown, light brown and glossy black.
The structure at the base, that of the legs, is unusual and rather rare: it has only two front legs in black lacquered wood, which rest on a wooden base that covers the entire length of the structure, which instead of the rear legs boasts a sort of wooden headboard. This base is suitable for displaying beautiful vases or statues.
Above these legs rises the central body of the console, which is rectangular in shape and made of a decidedly lighter wood, creating an effect that is elegant to say the least. It has two small storage drawers on the sides that can be opened by means of round brass handles that are perfectly patinated. Between these two rows of drawers is an open rectangular opening, which allows further display of various objects. Finally, the top is made of dark wood, with a typically Buffa decoration in the shapes: a decorative band formed by a light wood element finely modelled in waves, which lends sinuosity and elegance.
The console table is beautiful and suitable for areas of great taste.
