Rare set of six chairs designed by Paolo Buffa in the 1950s, of fine Italian manufacture.
The set consists of six chairs, with a solid wood supporting frame. There are four supporting legs, the front two are straight and square, with a wonderfully elegant patina brass ferrule. The back two are slightly flared and curved, to give more comfortable seating.
Going up to the seat we find a large, soft brown leather cushion, original to the period, splendidly trapezoidal in shape. It is connected to the frame by punches with screws, visible and beautiful.
From the seat up, the frame becomes more massive and narrows just above, then widens again to frame the backrest. The latter has a semi-oval shape, with a central wooden crown at the top. Simply magnificent.
The special feature of the chair is precisely the workmanship of the backrest, made of Vienna straw, without any breakage, in very good condition.
The chairs are suitable for important living rooms or dining rooms, for true lovers of classic Italian design.
