Rare set consisting of twelve hand-decorated ceramic pieces designed by Richard Ginori and attributed to the manufacture of Gio Ponti in the 1960s. The complete set consists of a set of 6 pieces, entirely decorated by hand. There are 6 soup plates, 6 flat plates, 6 dessert plates, a soup tureen with lid, 1 serving plate, and an open tureen with its serving dish. The set is something marvellous, decorated with imprecise lines, reminiscent of the style of painting, in the wonderfully eclectic colours of blue, yellow and white. The soup plates have a higher rim with the bottom clearly visible, with the typical coloured striped decoration; the large dinner plates are entirely in blue ceramic, clearly flat; the dessert plates have the coloured striped decoration, but are smaller of course. There are other large serving plates: a blue one to be placed under the blue tureen, while the other large coloured one matches the tureen with the lid. Finally, there is a blue soup tureen in the body, with two flat horizontal handles and a matching lid: the lid is decorated with the same coloured stripes as the serving dishes; at the top there is a hemispherical knob to allow the soup tureen to be opened without burning or losing the heat of the food. The set is ideal for classy and eclectic dinners and lunches, given the glittering and splendid colours.
