Comfortable Lounge chair by Sergio Rodrigues for the Isa Bergamo manufacture under the name Mole or Sheriff chair. Designed in 1957, the chair won first prize at the 4th International Furniture Competition in 1961. Originally nicknamed the “Mole chair” or “soft chair” for its relaxed style and large cushion. Later the chair was named and became the “Sheriff’s chair” for its typical sheriff’s straps and belts.
The leather cushion supported by leather straps and draped over the sculptural wooden frame has a casual aesthetic that has become a trademark of Brazilian design. Condition:
The Sergio Rodrigues lounge chair is in original and excellent vintage condition, a few scratches due to its age and use, the frame is perfect. The leather is in excellent condition, you may notice that in some places the leather is slightly worn, consistent with time and use.
