Folding chair by Viganò based on the prototypes of folding chairs created in the 19th century by J.B. Fendy, who was inspired by traditional Berber chairs. The Tripolina chair was made before the Second World War by the company from Viganò in Tripoli, Libya, for the Italian market as a camping chair with great stability and made of local wood and leather.
This first folding chair of the end of 19th century, 1881, inspired many designers, in which the best known example is the ‘Butterfly chair‘.
Completely original condition and it has a beautiful patina.
